This professional forum board was established to provide an environment where true professionals can freely discuss relevant flooring topics amongst their peers in a respectful and non-threatening atmosphere.
Proper etiquette and decorum are essentials to the success of any discussion board and this will continue to be something strictly enforced by FloorBiz to ensure that the established standards of use on this site continue to be professional and respectful.
It is understandable that personality conflicts and disagreements will occur. As long as proper restraint is excercised, viewpoints can be expressed, preserving the dignity of not only this forum board, but the reputation of the individual posting.
FloorBiz would like to thank in advance all of those participating for recognizing the need to uphold and maintain these high standards.
Many of you have commented how much you appreciate having an environment such as this (in contrast to other boards) to express your thoughts and views. FloorBiz appreciates the efforts of each participant and would like to thank you for the success resulting from this.
Our page views for the month of June totaled 58,406. This indicates that there are literally tens of thousands lurking and viewing the threads you are posting. This is even more reason to maintain proper etiquette and decorum.

I'm getting help with my anger management. The yuppies I am working for now doing a stranded bamboo are all into Green and Zen and Buddism. We all wen outside and meditated for awhile. The lady, Linda teaches.
I will be doing her Eco-Zendo in bamboo when it's built.

I did TM for a while,,,I was 22 and the instructor, I had a crush on her,,,,so, I took her course,,,,she never even considered going out with me but, I found it to be a good way to relax and regain energy,,,,trouble is, in this world, finding a quiet spot where people will leave you alone for twenty to thirty minutes,,,
I am not going to argue, I made a promise when I came here, I feel I have been insulted many times since I came here, and libeled beyond acceptance, and baited each day, but, I did not respond in anger but actually felt sorry for the person,,,
I moderated two sites for years, there are secrets to doing it,,that are not secrets,,,,but, the biggest thing to moderating a board is to let everyone voice an opinion without saying they are wrong, or stupid, or don't know what they are talking about,,,, encourage discussions by making everyone feel they are contributing....it must be done with a very humble attitude but a firm approach....and the ego must be put aside,,,and if the idea is to promote oneself or business, it will not work and fail.
For all my years moderating those two sites, I never made one dime as a moderator, never got one job where someone said they saw me there, not one mill ever called me saying they read it, not one dealer, not one distributor,,,,why did I do it? not because I am some great guy or anything, but, just a belief that we get as much good karma back as we put out,,,that simple,,,,no, my name is not Earl! but, the guys taught me so much, Stephen, Jerry, Walter, Wayner, Mike, Dick J.,,,, the list is too large,,,a forum can teach, but, on a forum, everyone is a teacher, repeat, everyone is a teacher and every person likes to think he can contribute positively and help other people,,,,knowing that, encourage it,,,,never say a person is wrong for trying to help,,,,praise him and gently guide him in a different direction,,,
I was telling Roger today that I always feel I lack some needed experience because I was never in retail selling,,,,yes, I feel, that is something that has at times hurt me,,,,I like to ask retailers questions on forums,,,,it helps me.
ok, I am done. sorry to lecture.

Selva, You are so well written and thought out. But I think you left one thought out.....While every ohe can be a teacher (and I fully and whole heartly agree)....every one can (and should) be a student as well. The best teacher is also the best learner (disciple). A disciplined person learns, teaches, and learns from teaching.
but you know that

you are right sir, those guys taught me so much and made me a much better inspector, they also taught me there are many different ways to look at a problem, and that the "industry standards" are not always the best way to look at a problem or complaint, but, the biggest thing they drove home to me I think is the most important, the human element and the effect of poorly done inspections upon the homeowner, the installer, the retailer and last, the manufacturer.....I think, each day, I was moderating that site back then, they reminded me in so many ways that a cavalier attitude that many inspectors have, esp.'ly toward the homeowner and installer, has a huge cost and affect upon their quality of life, and as one installer told me one day, a bad inspection can affect how well my children eat for a month.
I got to stop this preaching/lecturing,,,,I am getting old and doing this these days makes me sleepy, nap time!
