As most of you know these are Schluters innovative concepts for ceramic tile.
I do not see it promoted among retailers in the US. It seems in Canada it is common knowledge to use the ditra and kerdi instead of hardi or any other CBU. I find myself selling this concept to builders that have never heard of it and tile installers that cannot get it in thier areas.
I feel there needs to be more awareness issued to the retailers.
I had a coversation with the editor of Floor Covering Weekly after the Hoboken/Superior fiasco I was one of the retailers that had my hometown showroom shut down after they locked SPI's doors. (I had made the mistake of putting all my eggs in one basket.) He was doing small article about.
I happened the mention the Ditra (I had just placed an order with SPI for 32 rolls the day they shut down.) To my suprise he did not even know what I was talking about. I explained the concept and he seemed very uninterested. I offerd to post a article about and he faded even further.
This product is the best thing since sliced bread. It seems the general public is more aware of this fact then the retailers that should be selling it.
I would like to see more info in the formats that cater to retailers.
