What is going on here?

There seems to be competition between moderators.
WHY?

Perry is an up and coming Flooring Inspector who seems to feel the need to defend himself. I guess that is my fault for pushing Perry to continue his move toward additional Industry Certifications. Having met Perry;; I know he'll do well in the Inspection Industry and the area he resides needs him.

Mr. Ryan is challenging and feeling attacked when there is a response not agreeing with his thoughts.

Where is the mis-understanding originating from?

I think the problems lie with the simple fact Perry, Linda and I are inspectors, Jim is a Carpet Repair professional and Dave is a salesman......... and we all have different perspectives on the Industry.

We should be sharing rather than competing.

Or, take vacations LOL..Smile

Of Course All is forgiven

Jim,

This message board will only succeed if we help it. If we continue this "I'm better and smarter and have something you don't have" nonsense, then this will be the same type of board we see at other message boards.

This board is not about installers vrs. inspectors or Installers vrs. Retailers. All of us are part of the Flooring Industry and need each other. We are all in this together.

I'm hoping to see us move forward into the future. This industry changes faster than I can keep up with and sharing NEW information will help us all.

Keeping updated is the biggest challenge within this industry. Adhesives, Tack-strip, Fibers, yarn systems, backings........... every segment of the FloorCovering Industry is different today compared to a year ago...

Let's go find the updated information and post it here... This would be of great help and a learning process. If we don't take the time or make the effort to maintain a working knowledge of the changes we'll be so far behind that catching up will be to formidable a task.

Let's get to work helping each other.

I wonder, History has always shown that to move ahead, old wrongs must be made right.

On the other hand, history also teaches, that only the strong will survive.

Can you eat carpet Ray?

I don't understand your post.

Old Issues? That is yesterday Jim... The way to correct old is to start anew.. staying in yesterday will not put food on your table.
We must live in the moment and prepare for the future.
If there is something in History that will help in understanding the current situation and expand our futures;;; please tell us the history that will help.
Neither you nor I will change the world, but we can share information concerning the flooring industry....

You're naieve Ray or maybe not. However, it has been shown not to matter. You should speak to subjects you have lived. You obviously have not lived ours or you have and now have something else to protect.

We have lived these things all our lives. It's ok, they aren't your children.

Each man and woman in this world is dependant on all the people and things around them Ray. If we are lucky, we have at least 2 parents and they worked hard, saved and helped their children in a multitude of ways.

However Ray, that's not always the case.

Anyway Ray, even with the cards stacked against some people, they can become some of the very best. However, it ain't no bed of roses and for those men and women, they see their children and experience all that and then, they have to consider other men that are in the same fix and their children.

God doesn't let some of us just walk away.

I've been offered things to look away Ray and trust me when I say extra money would be nice. However, I would either have to sell other men and their children out or look the other way.

God already sees how stupid and dumb and stupid and dumb and stupid and dumb I've been. I can't afford to be heartless as well, I have nothing else.

In school, I didn't get along with the bullies. They made it hard on me and I made it hard on them. I wasn't raised that way, I was raised with the mindset of a healer, but the other kids wouldn't hear of such. Anyway, part of what I went through was because my mother taught me to protect my family and those that could not.

In school, that will just get ya a whole bunch of trouble and here today, I'm still doing the same things. I know, I should stop, but the bullies of the world never quit and so, for all my bad deeds, my mistakes, my ignorance and anger, I am locked into my fate.

I think I have a lot to give away and I am. I can see that I never will fit in with others, so let's just call it a draw. I'll not go to any functions and I'll back off of the harshest stuff--if I am not pressed. I wish I could just be what ya'll think is normal, but the river runs too deep.

Just consider and stay away from those areas and so will I. Keep it strictly to the floor. No sarcasam, no innuendo.

Let's just leave the past behind. I love to write and I have time.

I would have to say that I know of quite a few installers that would steal rolls of pad from the retailers, right under their noses. I've heard of some that go into their customers homes and eat their food right out of their refrigerators. I believe someone on another board spoke of the last.

There are many installers that won't do berber and they only want to do so much a week. They do bad work and all kinds of nonsense, but it is never for them that I would do anything. It is for the installers that have been the best they can, while others hurt them and their children and those only.

I know of many installers who stole cushion and keep large carpet roll balances.... And we paid our guys more than the competition...... it had nothing to do with anything other then they were thieves....... a thief is a thief and there is no excuse for being a thief.

period, end of sentence...
