Another reason to check is I'll relate an inspection I performed on a commercial vinyl installation. Armstrongs Corlon, been down 15-16 years throughout the kitchen and back storage rooms. One room looks almost new so the restrauant owner wants to leave that room and just redo the kitchen, hall, and storage area. Because this vinyl is holding well, there can't be anything wrong with the concrete........The new installation blew off the floor in 3-4 months. (Hard to remember the exact time frame) anyway, the old material had asbostos in it and it breathed. The new, looked the same. didn't and the dealers installers made another mistake, they omitted the S-200 on the seams. The dealer had to installer Ceramic tile because of the condition of the concrete floor. The restrauant owner removed all of the old material so the dealer didn't know how easy it came up. If he did he might have suspected a problem. Checking may be inconvient, but it can save your butt, if you test properly and document
Just my 2c.

Jim Ryan adds,--if the customer can remove the old from the floor, it's likely to come-up very easy,--in which case, the salesperson should be asking questions and having someone do testing.

I have to wonder, if the installers didn't use S-200 for the seams on Corolon, what the heck did they use?
