I do like their website editor, pretty easy. I just threw that together in about 45 minutes. I'm going to go back in later this week and tweek it some. Not sure if I like the main page or not. Maybe something brighter.

I'm glad to see you've dived into building a website. I like your template. Don't be afraid to introduce yourself on the home page. You don't need anything brighter ... you want your photos to stand out. A softer color in the main background would be helpful. It's a good start Stephen.

Thanks Kathy appreciate any feed back. I was in there tweaking it this morning.
My thoughts now are eliminating all the pics on the front page except that one with the pink round fireplace, expanding the picture for a more formal looking index page. Then doing the photo gallery with thumb nails that pop out as a full page pic.
I kinda want the pic with Donna on the front as well after I read about women making decisions about which flooring goes in and what type in the NFT magazine.
I also tend to babble alot on my posts. ha ha So I wrote a story about Donna on the "About" page to satisfy my need to babble. No one will probably read it anyway.
This website does not support php, probably for security reasons I would guess???
Speaking of security, why is my Norton telling me this site is a security risk?

Hi Steve,
Your page needs to be SEO'd to get higher rankings. It has been indexed. Whatever you want your keywords to be for a particular page, put them on the page a few times and in the title and description tags. Don't stuff the page.
Then you will rise higher.
Donna's story is cool. But it should have it's own page and then be optimized for "hardwood" and whatever city she is located in. See my column about portfolio pages.
Do you have unlimited pages with your service? I hate to tell you, but you may need to up your order from 4.95 a month. On my site I can get 999 pages for about $12 a month.
Oh, and livingroom is two words.

Ahhh, living room, I knew that. Ha ha
About those SEO's I was reading this blog about them, your thoughts?

Thanks for the other tips, I'll add that other page about Donna's story. Plus I'll read yours tomorrow even though I think I already read it. But I tend to forget sometimes because I read so much.
Thanks again!

Jill Whalen of HighRankings.com is very reliable. She's right that a lot of SEO work is baloney and dangerous and gives all of us a bad name. Effective SEO is not rocket science, but there is an art to it. Truly.

OK....to keep sanity intact due to very slow start this year I have been tweaking it lately after recieving feedback from past clients and relatives. Clients taking preference over relatives. lol
Changed the color of the background and size of text. Still on the wall about thumb nails vs instant gratification of which multiple pictures on front page outnumbered using pretty front page with thumbnails.
I restricted myself to the five page limit to keep the price down to 6 bucks a month. Maybe when work picks up I can enlarge the site.
Getting high ranking now on local google searches.

Stephen the website looks really good although I think you may be losing out on carpet and vinyl work. When reading it I felt like you did not like carpet or vinyl work. As a client why would I wont someone doing work in my home that don't have a passion for the work their doing? I hope this helps
BTW how's the website Traffic have you received any clients from it.

Thanks for the compliment Darian.
You definetly read me right, I got pretty burned out on doing carpet. It seems like it has so many more issues that I cannot control than other floors do.
Yes I have landed four jobs from it so far and have measured prolly twenty for ppl who are out shopping for their floors. Plus some have the flooring already and are working up to installation on remodels.
Not sure if it's just the economy picking up or my website but it's great to hear the phone ringing every day.

My fifteen year old put up the flickr slide show, Lord knows I could not figure out how to do it. That thing works wonders for the front page. He had to use some other software program to get it on there due to Intuit's software is not compatable. If you know html and looked at my site I hear it looks like hell from a webdesigners aspect.
But consumers seem to love it.

Did some carpet last week, maybe I better put some carpet pics up since work is spotty.
