Advice for using Flickr for Customers

I ran across this article about using Flickr that I thought might be helpful to installers who haven't built a website yet, but still want to use the web to get customers from the Internet.

Stephen does this already. But what this article discusses that would be very helpful is adding lots of descriptive text and your location.

Here's the link: http://www.wilsonweb.com/seo/doerr-flickr.htm

Thanks for that link Kathy! I spent a couple hours so far tagging my pictures and also "geotagging" them as well. We'll see if it helps.

Stephen

Boy this forum needs some life!!!!!

I have a flickr page here : http://www.flickr.com/photos/barrycarlton/

I know I need to spend more time labeling the pics.

But time is so scarce!

I wish we could get this forum up and running again. I don';t know why no one posts here anymore.

Looks like my flickr photostream hits the first page of a google search for: cork floor, tucson az

Still not sure how I got on the maps section lol

Plus there is a craigslist ad in there as well.

And I am listed in one of the indexes.

Hi Stephan,

I'm glad you're turning up better in search results. You mentioned the local business listing.

That's something else installers can do. You should "claim" your listing and fill it out. You can load it up with up to 10 pictures. It's a kind of mini-website for free.

When you put pictures on it, sometimes your pictures will show up alongside the map at the top of a Google page. Very cool.

You should also claim the local business listings on Yahoo and Bing.

One of these days I'll write an article about it ...

Yeah, Top Floor Installation Co makes it on the top part of the map main page for cork, but not hardwood??? Can't figure that out unless I am just bumped off due to a fixed number of listings.

Somewhere sometime someone told a computer I had a store on Broadway blvd. I have never had a store front. lol

I need to send that person a gift!

Hey, if I click on my ad to the left of this page enough times will it help my web presence? Smile))

Thanks for your help. I read your articles all the time.
