Interesting comment

There is another class taught by a wood extension department at a university. When a wood association was asked by some students going to it, a four day hands on and
classroom hardwood kiln drying class, for continuing education credits, the answer was no.

They said, inspectors don't need to know things like that. Gee, water/wood relationship, how moisture affects wood, how environmental conditions affect wood, and how to ID
wood drying defects and how they happen....oh wait, there is the answer, how dumb and stupid of me! "how to ID wood drying defects and how they happen",,,gee, let me slap
my forehead! Of course, inspectors don't need to know how defects happen!

Who is this "THEY" Person?
I am planning on attending that class in the near future if it's the one I think it is in SC.
Why would "they" make a statement like that?

Certified Wood Professionals,

I took the class, great class, hard,
hands on, lots of good math to have
fun with,

they want to control the training?
maybe? whatever, the would not
give credit for it,

Why would inspectors need to understand wood science anyway, the mills have ppl there that go to wood science classes, one would hope anyway.

Question; The FPL works in conjunction with what local university's wood science program?

that is a joke question, right?

I know of only one Guild that has
people who arrange for classes at
Universities,
I know some are now trying to copy
the concept, and some wanted to
steal outright the idea as theirs only,
and, tried to slip in to steal contacts,
and, the contacts are people, not
property to be stolen,
and, well, called people lairs about
what could be done and not done,
but, them working with a university?

really, a joke question, right?

right now,, there are four universities
in negotiations to do more classes
for the Inspectors Guild,,,,life is good
for some, others, well, left behind.
