My Haines rep did not go.But I will have to say that OFV may argue that Haines is the countrys biggest, so will Bird and Tri-west and I know Herregans would argue for that fact.
I actually find Haines to be over priced, they still are charging Fuel Surcharges this galls me since gas prices are at thier lowest point in two years.
They do keep good current stock but I can ship Wilsonart into thier area all day cheaper than I can buy it from them.
I can get almost anything cheaper from any other supplier than them
Do you know OVF supplies 1000s ft of product to Haines as well as Herregans and Bird. Just last month OFV supplied over 400K foot of Konecto to Herregan.
My OVF reps said it was terrible. My Florida rep said the same. Then he got stock on an airplane fro 5 hours trying to get out of Vegas My CDC reps said is was dismal at best
I guess it is all in the eyes of the beholder. I did not go so I guess I should limit my comments. I just heard so much negative from people from differnet sources it sounds like the ones that lauded it are the sponsers.

I do not know who OFV is I have heard of Bird and the others. Take a look at the new Floor covering News out and see what they say I just got mine today and they echo what I said. Armstrong sold out all their specials in the first 3 hours. I am not the one that calls Haines the biggest it was in the industry news naming the top 100 Dist. they even got bigger from buying Wheeler in Florida. I do agree they get carried away with their pricing at times.

Roland, may I suggest you let it go. His biz is probably down too and he has to try to tear down everyone else in the process.
When I am slow, and my competitors are busy, I am happy for them. Attitudes toward competitors reveal the character of a man.
Roland, do you feel Armstrong and other hard surface, other than wood, are slowly making progress toward reclaiming a larger market share?

OVF is Ohio Valley Flooring and you are correct about Wheeler I had not thought them getting bought by JJ that would give JJ a longer arm and push them to surpass Bird.
