New Service

This went out Friday from the NWFA CP,,,,
opinions anyone?

NEW INSPECTOR SERVICE
NWFA CERTIFIED PROFESSIONALS HAS ESTABLISHED A NEW PROGRAM TO PROVIDE INDEPENDENT INSPECTION SERVICES ON BEHAVE OF WOOD FLOORING
MANUFACTURERS, SUPPLIERS, DISTRIBUTORS AND RETAILERS.

This new program offers manufacturers, distributors, retailers, dealers and end-users an opportunity to contract with NWFACO Independent Certified Inspection Services
(NWFACP-ICIS) for inspection services. Because NWFACP-ICIS handles all contact with the inspector directly, the inspector's relationship with the contracting company remains
independent of unbiased.
How will this new program work? It is really very simple,. When a manufacturer, supplier, distributor, retailer, or other company needs a wood flooring inspection, they simply
contact NWFACP-ICIS directly. WFACP-ICIS will contact a qualified NWFACP certified inspector to conduct the inspection on behalf of the contraction company The inspector then
will conduct the inspection and will prepare a comprehensive report of all procedures, tests, and findings based on NWFA Certified Professionals Inspection Guidelines. Both the
inspection and the report will be monitored by NWFACP-ICIS at all stages to ensure that the report findings are thorough, adhere to industry standards, and provide no biased
information or conclusions.

NWFACP will carefully screen and qualify all inspectors who participate in this program to ensure that they meet all requirements for maintaining NWFACP certified status. You
already know that NWFACP certified status is the industry mark of excellence and professional credibility, so why not take your skills to a new level with a larger professional
audience? This service is one more way that NWFA Certified Professionals help you promote your certified status.

So the question needs to be asked. how much will the NWFA be charging? How much will they be keeping and what will they pay the inspector?

Will it be more reasonable that the old NOFMA fees? Will they try to take advantage of the inspectors? Will there be favoritism in an area where there are several NWFA inspectors?

Do NWFA member mills or supporters get favorable reports?

I think everything is a little too cozy!

I do? Thats a joke.

Roger, there is already favoritism what are you talking about?

How about controlling cost of inspections and holding the price down. They are already Po'd about prices being charged.

How about ensuring too much "wood science" doesn't inter fear with the manufactures ability to produce low quality goods and get away with claims for low quality product?

There's a few to chew on.

This is looking all to familar to the CRI people who are in the pocket of manufactures and have inspection/manufacture's entity's writing standards.

Where the unbiased part coming from?

Try and find a reference or photo of a manufacturing defect in the problems causes and cures in their tech manual ..
