Selva, have you never had an expense account?
The way it works is you buy your own lunch, then send the receipt in for reimbursment. It is bad form to ask for money up-front!

Of course David said he will reject the expense because you did not get it authorized beforehand, send in the request in triplicate and with a signed requisition explaining in detail why you needed to spend the money.
