| 7/17/2009 1:11:49 PM A Day In The Life Of An Installer-Your Either With Us, Or Against Us
Yeah remember that? Turn around is fair play they say.
I feel the biggest threat to the U.S. are the naysayers and doom & gloom people in the media who continually harp on the economic recovery plan before it even has a chance to get going. Only a partial amount of the 750 billion or so has even been spent so far.
These people I believe actually want the economy to tank. And I mean seriously tank so they will look like saviours. They are in IMHO political economic terrorists. In fact, one radio host even said he wanted the Presidents plan to fail.
If you want to scare people into not spending money keep on harping about it on the media and websites and watch them close those wallets up. Everybodys job is at stake here, not just the service sector, retail sector or manufacturing sector.
Not totally unlike the terrorists who blew up the World Trade Center, they wanted to totally dismantle the economy and darn near did it. Not that a couple buildings could actually ruin our economy, it was the fear factor that shut down the economy.
I recently went to look at a job where the people needed a grout replacement. The installer didn't pack it correctly and used too much water in the mix. The install was shoddily done as well and the company that did it will not return calls after three years.
I told the owner he should just replace it since there were also quite a few loose tiles as well and the labor cost of fixing it would nearly be the same as replacement.
Although the guy went on and on about his being a gold trader and obviously had the money to replace the tile he kept on metioning how bad the economy was and how he didn't want to spend any money right now, yata yata yata. He listens to these doom and gloom people all day on TV and radio. Even brought out a fact sheet he downloaded off the internet about the national debt.
After a short while listening to him I felt depressed myself and hardly wanted to even do his work. I wanted to go home and hide in a closet.
I feel that all this constant whining and complaining creates a domino effect of people not wanting to spend money to buy goods they really need and therefore creates more job losses in itself.
So if you like your job and really really want the economy to make a turn I suggest you keep a positive mindset. Go buy something! Preferrably made in the U.S.A. And that is another rant in itself.
Thats all folks, thanks for listening to my rant SP

You're on point, Stephen. The thing most people don't realize is how perception quickly becomes reality.
No one would (in there right mind) deny the fact that gravity exists. Yet there is another natural law just as real called the 'Law of Attraction'. Like gravity, it never rests and is constantly conforming to our internal belief system. Think of it as our personal 'Genie in a bottle'.
It works this way. What we think becomes reality. So, if we think business is terrible, we have no money, or how can things get any worse..., our internal genie basically says 'Your wish is my command' and turns this perception of our life into reality.
Some may say that these things did exist and were real and had nothing to do with this so-called 'Law of attraction'.
My challenge to such ones is this:
Try re-framing your thoughts to something more positive. For instance, instead of thinking 'How can my life get any worse?', try thinking 'How can my life get any better?'
Both statements invoke the same internal genie, so which perception do you wish to have fulfilled?
Do this with every thought regarding business, family, finances, etc... and see what happens.
Like Stephen said, fear and despair are paralyzing emotions. By realizing that we attract what we think, wouldn't it be wiser to resist negative thinking and work at maintaing positive thoughts and perceptions?
