Nice article Kathy. Someday I will do one. Hopefully this summer when the kids are out of school. My thirteen year old is taking web classes and is running and building his teachers website. I might have to pay him though. Ha ha
For now I use flickr to show people my pictures of jobs. It helps alot.

Plus what else is amazing is that I get more calls (double) from my craigslist ad than my DEX ad. Hmmmm I like having a prsence in DEX, makes you seem more professional than not having a presence there.
News papers may be a thing of the past, one in my town and numerous others are going bankrupt.

Stephen,
That's a good idea to use flickr in the meantime ... before you have a website.
Interesting about craigslist getting you more work than DEX. It goes to show that folks go to their computers before they go to the yellow pages.
In fact, I wonder if before they went to craigslist they just did a search for "installers + location" ... that's where having a website will help you. When you get your website done, hopefully you will show up near the top of that list if you've done your SEO rightly.
Having a web presence is more and more essential for any business these days. People go to the Web first.
