Roland, you must have a regular paycheck coming in to be able to attend all the seminars and training courses you go to. I think you just got back from the WFCA thing in CA.
I don't get any pay unless i am in someones house working......... my backlog right now is two months whereas it was four months out. I'm having to work 7 days most weeks as it is right now.
I would like more training too but it's just not a feasible option being a one man operation.

John, I am in managment for a family owned store that has been in Frederick MD for over 75 years. It is in the Carpet One Floor and Home buying group but is localy owned and run. Jerry, Yes I do have a regular check that I get every week now, I also do installs for the company that is above my normal check you see when they wanted me to come in I told them that I was not giving up my old company so when their is a custom job I am the one that does it .For years I was just like you busting butt 6 days a week. Every now and then I would work on Sundays but it had to be something very inportant. Even when I worked for myself ( over 26 years ) I would try and work it out to go to the trainings. ( because of the trainings ) now make money from many of the mills to go out and do some consulting work for them and that is what I use to pay from my time off. Belive me I understand how much it cost a installer to go to training not only do you pay for the course you lose all the money you would make those days. FD

I wish I could afford training, but financially it is not possible for me. The last training I went to was the Armstrong vinyl school many years ago. You are very lucky to be able to go.

Rusty and I are in the same boat but neither one of has a paddle. (I think he's too old to paddle anyway)
We'll get there one way or another. Keep up the good work Roland.

Well this week went great. We had 14 come thru the wood certification ( including me ) and 17 go thru the carpet certification. It was fun during the wood certification that I had to stop what I was doing to be the host. Guys were great with good attuites. Looking forward to next week.

Be glad you are working every day. Very few installers are busy.
