(Dayton, NJ – May 2017) Roxbury New Jersey Public School Officials faced a time-sensitive challenge in creating allergy prevention classroom conditions with the replacement flooring of its Kennedy School kindergarten classroom. In order to provide a setting that would establish and maintain a healthy learning environment for young students and prevent allergies, while supporting student learning, they contracted The Gillespie Group, a leading NJ-based commercial flooring provider to provide a long-term flooring solution.

Recipient of the project award through the ESCNJ Co-Op, The Gillespie Group seemed a natural choice, as the company had previously worked on flooring projects at Roxbury High School, the middle school and three other elementary schools in the district. The kindergarten project was its first at the Kennedy School. John Eschmann, Buildings and Grounds Director for the Roxbury School District commented, “Our previous experiences working with The Gillespie Group in several of our other schools were very successful, so we were most confident that they were well equipped to tackle this problem.”

With the health and wellness of the young learners being of paramount concern, the Kennedy School kindergartners were relocated to an alternate location and the process of removing and replacing the old flooring in the 1,300 square foot classroom began.
