Tile Collection Pays Homage to Famous Painters
(Coverings’17, Orlando, FL, April 4-7, 2017) Ceramic tiles serve a practical purpose, but they also have the power to set a visual mood and launch a decorating scheme that can turn a room into a masterpiece. Like miniature works of art, ceramic tiles in the Watercolors collection express a handcrafted, artisanal aesthetic that shines in contemporary, country and coastal environments.

“Our Watercolors collection is informed by the subtle color variation employed by the masters of watercolor—Durer, O’Keefe, Sargent, Turner, and Whistler,” says Feras Irikat, director of design and marketing for Lunada Bay Tile. “Lighter, more vibrant colors appear where glaze is delicately applied and colors darken where glaze pools on the surface.”

From rich to delicate, earthy to aquatic, these shaded hues pay homage to the palettes of five famous painters. The multi-tint Green Mix is named for the Georgia O’Keefe, the Light Grey for
J.M.W. Turner, the Dark Grey for John Singer Sargent, the White for James McNeill Whistler, and the Cream for Albrecht Durer.

Considering the many options in color, shape, and use, the Watercolors collection can produce museum-quality décor in almost any space. The tiles are suitable for residential or commercial walls, including backsplashes, fireplace surrounds and shower enclosures, in addition to light-traffic flooring.

Designed for creative placement, the collection’s mix-and-match individual tiles feature three formats. Rectangles and elongated hexagons each measure 3½ x 9½ inches; liners are 1 x 9½ inches.
