New Serenissima Collections at Coverings 2017
Casalgrande, 14 April 2017 – At Coverings 2017, the biggest North American ceramic industry exhibition, Serenissima has presented Charwood and Gemme, two unprecedented collections which interpret the warmth of wood and the elegance of marble, marrying the charm of the original materials with the latest in ceramic technology.

From the most eclectic marble surfaces to the most ancient Japanese techniques for conserving wood, Serenissima's stylists have travelled the world to find the inspiration for their latest collections - contemporary solutions for intense, immersive interior design.

GEMME is a collection of surfaces inspired by this extraordinary natural material which, day after day, man brings into the light to unveil the hidden marvels of the colours, nuances and veining, always new and unexpected, of the many varieties of marble. With its wide range of sizes, from 5x5 mosaic to the new 80x180 and 100x100 cm panels, GEMME has the solution for any setting and choice of furnishings.

In CHARWOOD, Serenissima has rediscovered the ancient Japanese Shou Sugi Ban wood treatment process. Blackened, burnt, charred wood yields a robust, unalterable material with a unique, fascinating look. The special effects created by this highly artistic finishing technique, which gives a different finish with each individual wood, have been translated into a modern, versatile and highly attractive collection with three intense colour systems for a unique design with elegant nuances, chiaroscuro and metallic shine that make the use of further decoration quite superfluous.
