Cartersville, Ga. – Patcraft, a leader in high-performance commercial flooring, has introduced its newest soft surface collection, States of Water. Inspired by beautiful imagery of water in solid, liquid and vapor forms, this 24” x 24” carpet tile collection features a sweeping gradient and nature-inspired visuals designed to evoke a sense of calm and wellbeing. Within the collection’s three styles, the soothing patterns and refined colorways enhance a calming aesthetic in the built environment.

“Water in its various states creates color in interesting ways,” said Ashley Weaver, product designer for Patcraft. “I was particularly curious about the formations of the glaciers in Greenland, drawn to their curvature and dramatic hues. Studying the water’s motion in these images—the depth and color shifts—we experimented with color and pattern, determined to recreate the movement in a gentle shift across the floor.”

Weaver and the Patcraft design team worked closely with manufacturing to bring these beautiful images to life in the product design. By experimenting with samples and color combinations, the team explored new ways to replicate the movement seen within the imagery-- playing with scale and texture. The collection’s three styles, Glacial IceTM, TidalTM and VaporousTM, blend different yarns that run across the width of the pattern, creating a unique color shift designed to emulate the depth, motion and dimension seen in the various forms of water.

Available in 24” x 24” carpet tiles and 11 colorways, including six brights and five neutrals, the styles work together to create transition and movement across the floor. Glacial Ice features a large scale pattern inspired by dimension observed in the cracks and crevices of ice formations. With a subtle texture and soft gradient, Tidal captures the essence of crashing waves. Vaporous, a medium scale pattern inspired by vapor and fog, offers movement and depth for comforting spaces.

Constructed with EcoSolution Q® nylon and EcoWorx® backing, States of Water is Cradle to Cradle Certified™ Silver. As a carpet tile with EcoWorx® backing, the collection can be recycled at the end of its useful life to then be remade into EcoWorx® flooring through the re[TURN]® Reclamation Program. Products are backed with limited lifetime warranties against stain, colorfastness to light, static and abrasive wear for maximum performance and appearance retention.
