According to Dan Natkin, Vice President of Laminate and Hardwood at Mannington Mills, “on trend visuals consumers are looking for, like long and wide planks and premium sliced face veneers, are central to this year’s introductions. We’re really excited to get them into the
marketplace.”
From a design perspective, says Cristen DelBove, Director of Residential Styling at Mannington, “When you think about the key market trends that are emerging in hardwood for 2021, texture is very important. Scrapes are softer and more refined and hand-planed, wire brushed looks are taking center stage. Gloss levels are coming down to allow the warm natural beauty of wood to come through.”
Mannington’s 2021 hardwood products feature products that offer consumers a world of choices. They are:
KODIAK: This look can be categorized as “Global Boho” but suits almost any interior space. The hand stained and hand scraped finish creates a warm, rich visual that lends itself perfectly to the eco-friendly vibe that continues to gain popularity. This sustainably harvested plantation
White Teak species comes in planks that are 5”-wide, with lengths up to 4’. Kodiak will add warmth and beauty to any home with its rich palette in colors: champagne, rye, autumn and fawn.
MOUNTAIN VIEW XL: In keeping with the longer, wider trend that has taken the market by storm, we are proud to introduce a makeover edition to the best-selling Mountain View product line. Mountain View XL is a 6 ½” -wide, 7’-long update that is best described as perfectly rustic. Featuring artisan hand scraping and hand staining, this floor epitomizes the word ‘character’ with its handsome and dramatic graining. Mountain View XL is available in the four top selling existing Mountain View colors of autumn, bark, fawn, and smoke; and features two new, lighter Nordic influenced colors - champagne and platinum - that are sure to spark inspiration.
PARK CITY: Adding a color to this existing product line will round out the mix with a simple, yet elegant color of ‘natural’. Park City is an elegant, 7 ½”- wide Sliced White Oak product with lengths up to 7 feet long.
FOREST PARK: Capitalizing on the popularity of Hickory, Forest Park, is a 7.5"-wide plank, premium sliced face Hickory with extra-long lengths up to 7 feet long. It is durable, versatile and creates a unique and sophisticated visual in the home. Says Cristen DelBove, “One of my favorite things about Forest Park is the hand-stained color palette. Its warmth can only be found in a Hickory floor, and its “traditional with a fresh outlook” vibe is the perfect fit for the Grand millennial trend.” Forest Park’s four colors are twig, sunbeam, natural and trail.
SANCTUARY: A premium product with exceptional design, this European White Oak is brought to an even higher level with an ultra-matte finish that highlights the soft, natural character of the wood. Sanctuary’s massive planks are 5/8” thick, 9.5”- wide and up to 7 feet long with a 4mm thick face. This series capitalizes on the simple and clean visual in six gorgeous, zen-like colors: driftwood, dune, fresh air, oyster, sea salt and shell.
