Mohawk Announces National Retailer of the Year Awards at Edge Summit
CALHOUN, Ga. January 3, 2019—Mark’s Floors of Minneola, Florida, has been named the 2018 Omnify Retailer of the Year by Mohawk, the leading global manufacturer of flooring. The award was presented to Mark Compston, who started his business only a decade ago and has already grown it from an 800-square-foot warehouse to a 27,000-square-foot showroom facility with two additional locations, at Mohawk’s first Edge dealer convention in Orlando last month.

In naming the ColorCenter Elite retailer, Jeff Meadows, Mohawk’s senior vice president of residential sales, said, “This retailer’s commitment to Mohawk’s innovation in retail strategy and product has proved to be a fruitful partnership. Mark’s Floors is on track to become a $4 million business. We couldn’t be prouder of Mark Compston, who persevered during the economic downturn and was able to align with us almost from the start, becoming a true Mohawk loyalist.”

Mark’s Floors was one of the first Mohawk retailers to embrace the brand’s Omnify digital platform, which helps to cultivate sales leads and convert them into steady customers. In its first six months using Omnify, site traffic to the Mark’s Floors website increased by 37% and has since shown a current increase of 97%. In addition, Mark’s Floors has increased its digital advertising budget by 68%, leveraging Mohawk’s ready-to-go campaigns, increasing lead submissions and decreasing cost per lead by 45%.

“When selecting our Omnify Retailer of the Year, we looked for retail stores that were enthusiastic advocates of our Omnify program and demonstrated an evolving dedication to training, in-store and online standards, brand building, merchandising and a seamless customer purchase journey,” explained Meadows.

Additionally, the company’s strong focus on community involvement and customer service helped to confirm its Retailer of the Year win. Mark’s Floors is one of the first dealers in the country to bring Mohawk’s Air.o hypoallergenic soft flooring to market. In fact, Compston made headlines for installing it in the home of a single mom who needed a flooring solution that would accommodate her toddler with chronic allergies.
