Troy, N.C. — Capel Rugs is introducing three fashion-forward collections at this summer’s Atlanta and Las Vegas home furnishings markets to provide retailers with a range of new sharply priced designs.

Introductions include Laramie, a contemporary-casual collection of leather patchwork rugs; Avanti, an innovative transitional offering with tribal influences; and Peyton, a nature-inspired hand tufted design. In addition, Capel Rugs will be featuring an assortment of designs introduced at the April High Point Market that are new to many Atlanta and Las Vegas buyers.

“Our key themes for this round of markets are texture and value,” said Cameron Capel, vice president of national accounts. “Peyton and Avanti are wonderful new loop-pile designs in a range of on-trend colors, and Laramie — our new leather collection — features a unique surface treatment that gives it a vintage, slightly ‘scratched’ look. All three designs offer a very strong value, which makes them even more attractive.”

Laramie
Both rugged and stylish, Capel Rugs’ new hand-stitched, hair-on hide constructed Laramie collection is made India using naturally colored strips and squares of quality cowhide leather transformed into art for the modern floor. The rustic-leaning collection features six contemporary-casual patterns in a range of geometric and abstract patterns with unique dimensional and textural effects, including Brushed Blocks, Arrowhead, Braided Stripes, Cubes, Diamonds and Patchwork. A total of eight colorways are available, ranging from rhythmic combinations of on-trend greys to warm, organic neutrals. Two sizes of the rugs are offered: 5’ x 8’ and 8’ x 10’. A 5’ x 8’ rug may retail for $649.

Avanti
Avanti — an innovative transitional collection with primitive and tribal influences — conveys a distinct geometric flair with its creative use of zigzags, diamonds and other angular and organic shapes. Offered in four distinct designs — Django, Dakota, Quilt and Kelim — Avanti takes inspiration from ancient Eastern and Western cultures to create a unique collection filled with colorful vim and vigor. Hand tufted in India of 100% wool with a loop pile texture, each Avanti rug features a blend of bold, on-trend “multi” colors. Sizes include 3’ x 6” x 5’6”, 5’ x 8’, 8’ x 10’ and 9’ x 12’. A 5’ x 8’ rug may retail for $299.

Peyton
Overscaled floral motifs combine with free-flowing, nature-inspired organic and geometric shapes to create the new traditional-themed Peyton collection. Hand tufted in India using space-dyed yarns of 100% wool, Peyton features four unique patterns and colorways — natural, floral multi, beige/grey and sand/blue. The collection also incorporates an oversized loop pile technique for added texture. Sizes include 3’6” x 5’6”, 5’ x 8’, 8’ x 10’ and 9’ x 12’. A 5’ x 8’ rug may retail for $299.

During the summer markets, a variety of best-selling new rugs from Capel’s spring High Point Market showing also will be on display. They include Clara, an elegant hand tufted design in four soft tones with a micro loop pile; the Lariat collection of flat woven, leather-and-cotton rugs, which has been expanded with three new colors; and Metropolis, a Wilton woven collection of seven transitional and traditional designs in 100% New Zealand wool.

In addition, Capel Rugs will be spotlighting three popular new models recently added to the best-selling WILLIAMSBURG At Home® line of “Trend Meets Tradition” designs. They include a new flat woven design called Palace Fret, and two new hand knots — Isobel and Thompson Ikat. All three designs feature jute.

“These jute rugs are surprisingly soft, which adds another dimension to their appeal,” Capel said. “Palace Fret and Isobel did particularly well at the April market, and we expect to gain even more retail placements for our new WILLIAMSBURG jute program at the summer markets.”

At the Atlanta International Area Rug Market being held July 12 to 16, Capel Rugs will be exhibiting in its permanent year-round location at AmericasMart Building 1, space 3-D-1. At the Las Vegas Market taking place July 30 to August 3, Capel Rugs will exhibit in its permanent year-round showroom at World Market Center’s Building A, Space A-133.
