In 1898, E. Caligari & Son had its auspicious beginning when Eugene Caligari, newly arrived from Chiavenna, Italy, embarked upon the American dream of owning his own business. Eugene and his son, Eugene, Jr., learned every aspect of the painting business.Their honesty and work ethic gave them the sizable following of loyal customers needed to start their own company, E. Caligari & Son.
Soon another son, William, joined his father, learning the trade and eventually expanding in the 1970s, opening Caligari’s Hardware and Taylor Rental. Bill’s two sons, Jeffrey and William, Jr., now own and operate the business which begun over a century ago by their grandfather. They have continued to grow the family operation as well, founding William Caligari Interior Design in 1989 and Linen in 2012.
Jeffrey’s daughter, Kaitlyn, manages E. Caligari & Son, after years of working for leading international furniture and textile brands such as Donghia and Holland & Sherry. Kaitlyn is bringing in the fourth generation of Caligari’s in the home improvement industry.
