We have been in business since 1985. The original location was 708 West 7th Street in Sioux City and shortly expanded to a larger location at 420 Bluff Street in 1989. We continued to grow and expand and moved to our current location; 2500 Glenn Ave. at the Hillcrest Center in 1993. (Across from the Floyd Monument and Floyd Golf Course).
We were founded by Howard Knox and have been owned by Howard's son, Shawn Knox since. Shawn's son Nick is also employed at the store as well, making us a third generation employer. Shawn's second son, Tony, is also in the flooring business as a territory manager for a wholesale distributor out of Omaha, NE. Shawn's brothers are also in the business as flooring contractors here in Sioux City and Northeast Nebraska.
Consumers will find a wide array of beautiful flooring at Knova's Carpets. We carry carpeting manufactured by Shaw, Mohawk, Beaulieu; vinyl manufactured by Congoleum, Mannington, IVC and Tarkett; laminate manufactured by Shaw Laminate, Quick.Step, Armstrong; ceramic tile manufactured by Shaw Ceramics, Orchid Ceramics, Paramount Porcelain and Avaire Porcelain.
Our flooring mechanics/installers are factory certified and endorsed by AFCI.
We are very adept at coordinating any project regardless of size, scope or magnitude. We pride ourselves on being able to change rapdily with any changing circumstance beyong our customer's control.
Our traditional customer base is within a 60 mile radius of Sioux City, but we have traveled to points substantially farther such as Colorado Springs, Colo., Park Rapids, Minn., Iowa City, Iowa, and Crown Point, Indiana. We were chosen to do the work at all of the aformentioned locations outside of Siouxland because we had previously done work for those customers here in Siouxland.
Our strong emphasis on customer service has not gone unnoticed. In 1992, our family owned business received the "Pride of Siouxland" Award from The Sioux City Chamber of Commerce, and in 1996, we were awarded the Better Business Bureau's "Customer Committment Award for Best Customer Relations Effort".
We also contribute to the Siouxland community in many other ways. We are major contributors to Freedom Fest, Catholic Charities, High School Athletics, Little League, Youth Volleyball, Saints Wrestling, Sioux City Gospel Mission, Habitat for Humanity and the Ronald McDonald House.
