Mayfield Carpets, Inc. was started as a family owned and operated business in Fairburn, GA in July of 1990.  The first store consisted of about 900 sq. ft. and was jointly operated by Ferrol S. Mayfield, Merrill A. Mayfield and Curt Bearden. Both Ferrol and Merrill were born in the old Fayette county (before Peachtree City was a city) and started installing carpet in their early teens. 

We relocated to Peachtree City in February of 1991, as Mayfield & Bearden, Inc.  The move to Peachtree City was dictated by the large number of customers that our shop had attracted from the Peachtree City area. Mr. Bearden left the partnerership in mid 1994, he took a position as a Pastor in Ellijay, GA.  Ferrol Mayfield and Merrill Mayfield combined their talents and continued to operate as Mayfield Carpets.   With then office manager (Phillip Mayfield).  Our next store was located on GA Hwy. 54, (where the Washington Mutual Bank now resides). Phillip moved on to greener pastures in June of 1998 and  Joyce (Ferrol's wife) came on board in August 1998 as office manager and General Partner. 

After several moves into larger buildings (we kept outgrowing our floor space) we landed in our current location at 303 Kelly Drive Suite 2 & 3.  Where we are able to offer most major manufacturers in both carpet and hard surface products.  All of our installers have been in floor covering business for most of their lives and with the benefits of a combined 70 years experience they are the premier installers in the Tri-County area.
